Francisco Cálão and Gonçalo Silva are the new Regional Champions. After 6 very close races, the team of POR 54 suffered a strong opposition from Nélson Machado/Nélson Costa, that won one of the regattas. Saturday began with a fantastic weather, welcoming the 1st Regatta organized by the Sharpie Club (Portugal). We held 3 races, with winds jumping from S to SW and around 6 to 8 knots.
On Sunday, the weather changed, and some rain appeared, with the winds rising to 10/12 knots, making it more difficult to the lighter teams. Even so, José Manuel Monteiro and Nuno Monteiro managed tokeep a final 3rd place, leaving Salustiano Ribeiro/João Matos and Gustavo Silveirinha/Paulo Matos behind. This Regatta also counted to you Sharpie Cup 2008. Next event on the official Calendar is the National Championship, to be held in Torreira next 28 and 29th of June.
